Enjoy the Week Horseback Riding to discover the most beautiful landscapes of Patagonia

The Week Horseback Riding is a program recommended mainly for lovers of horses and nature. In other words, you will enjoy seven days in Patagonia, riding on the most beautiful roads in southern Chile.

You will stay in the city of Puerto Natales, which is a charming city of approximately 22 thousand inhabitants. You will be in a very well located point, making it possible to visit the main trails of Chilean Patagonia. The Week Horseback Riding program is perfect to get to know the region with your partner or friends.

Meet Patagonian estancias, Sierra Baguales and Torres del Paine Park

You will begin by getting to know the Milodon Cave Natural Monument, a place made up of three caves, where the remains of Milodons were found. The Mylodon was a large herbivorous mammal that probably became extinct at the end of the Plaistocene. Then you will make a horseback ride along the edge of the Sofia Lagoon, a place with incredible views of the region.

The next day, in the Week Horseback Riding program, will be to cross the Canal Señoret and visit an estancia on the Antonio Varas Peninsula. There you can do a beautiful horseback ride to get to know the natural environment. In addition, you will taste the typical gastronomy of the region.

También conocerás Sierra Baguales, un lugar con más de 50 millones de historia que te dejará maravillado con sus aserrados relieves y oscuras montañas. You can go horseback riding and trekking through the more than 6,000 hectares of the place, discovering lagoons, winding rivers, geological formations and fossils.

Also, with the Week Horseback Riding program, you will get to know the famous Torres del Paine National Park. Surely, this park is a mandatory stop on a trip to Patagonia. You will do the Full Day Torres del Paine, visiting the Torres sector, the Nordenskjöld viewpoint and the Grey sector.

The last day will be a day of rural tourism, enjoying a Patagonian estancia and a beautiful horseback ride of approximately 5 hours.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival and welcome

Welcome in Puerto Natales, depending on the time of arrival we make a historical City Tour around the city, later we settle in our room and carry out the briefing of the activities and restaurant recommendation for dinner and enjoy a night of mixology (cocktail glass, alcohol regional or juice). Then you will have your first night of accommodation.

Day 2 – Milodon Cave and Sofía Lagoon ride

We have breakfast and then go to the Milodon Cave Natural Monument, a natural monument made up of three caves, where the remains of Milodons were found, large herbivorous mammals that probably became extinct at the end of the Pleistocene.

Later we will make a 5-hour ride along the edge of Sofía Lagoon in an area of approximately 7,000 hectares with incredible views of the region, later we will return to Puerto Natales, recommendations to choose a place for dinner and Mixology Night (Cocktail glass or regional alcohol or juice).

Day 3 – Antonio Varas Peninsula and horseback riding

We have breakfast and then we cross the Canal Señoret to visit an Estancia. Once in the Antonio Varas Peninsula we will learn about the history of the ranch, we will enter an exuberant native forest, full of flora and diversity of birds of the place and then finish at the foot of the Mirador hill.

We border the Almirante Montt Gulf to cross beautiful native forests full of birds, mosses, lichens and beautiful panoramic views. We will be able to go horseback riding and trekking to get to know the beauty of the landscape, we will have typical gastronomy for lunch, meats in their different preparations, salads, potatoes, aperitif, juice and wine, after a well-deserved rest we return back to Puerto Natales.

Day 4 – Horseback riding in Sierra Baguales

In Chile there are few places that can match the disturbing beauty of this isolated volcanic mountain range, located between 600 and 1,200 meters above sea level and about 120 kilometers north of the city of Puerto Natales, we find these jagged reliefs and dark mountains that amaze any of its visitors. We refer to Sierra Baguales, a place known for its troops of wild horses (Baguales).

We will visit a ranch (rural tourism) where we can go horseback riding as well as interesting trekking through the more than 6,000 hectares of the place, we will visit lagoons, winding rivers, geological and fossil formations. From its hills you can see herds of wild horses, guanacos, condors and the typical flora and fauna of Chilean Patagonia, making this excursion a unique and incomparable experience in Patagonia.

Day 5 – Torres del Paine National Park

After a good breakfast we go to the Torres del Paine National Park. We will visit the Torres sector, with the possibility of visiting Azul Lagoon, as well as seeing Cascada Paine and going to the Nordenskjold Viewpoint. Later we will go to enjoy the Grey Glacier sector, where we will take a walk on the beach. Then we will return to Puerto Natales.

Day 6 – Rural Tourism

After breakfast we leave Puerto Natales to go to another ranch, currently with an area of 13,000 hectares, focused on working with livestock as the main activity and complementing these with some tourist services.

We will enjoy a 5-hour ride that is framed in a unique environment that includes the Sierra del Toro, Toro and Sarmiento lakes, from the latter you can see a wonderful view of the Cordillera Paine, we will have typical food for lunch. From the sector you can see the green lagoon, snowdrifts and the Paine massif, this spectacular area borders the Torres del Paine National Park. Return to Puerto Natales.

Day 7 – Farewell

We have breakfast and we move in our vehicle to go to the airport where we finish our services.
