❓ Patagonian International Marathon FAQs (and cool answers)

We know how it works. Your heart is saying, “I want to run in Patagonia right now!” and your head is asking questions like a machine gun:

What if I freeze? How do I get there? Do I have to train like an ultra-pro? What if I get hungry in the middle of the forest?

Take a deep breath! Here we answer all your key questions (and some you didn’t know you had) so you can make the best decision and arrive at the race stress-free.

Patagonian International Marathon

✈️ How do I get there?

Step by step:

  1. Flight to Santiago, Chile (SCL).
  2. Connection to Punta Arenas (PUQ) – the nearest airport.
  3. From there, land transfer to Puerto Natales, the base city for the event.

If you purchase our all-inclusive program, we’ll take care of EVERYTHING: domestic flights, transfers, accommodations, and logistics. All you have to worry about is remembering your sneakers.

🛏️ Where do I stay?

Most runners stay in Puerto Natales, a picturesque Patagonian town with a good selection of hotels. We can find you comfortable accommodations close to the city center and with a good breakfast (key for runners!).

🏃 What categories are there?

  • 10K: For those who want to live the experience without breaking themselves.
  • 21K (Half Marathon): ideal if you have running experience.
  • 42K (Marathon): the total adventure, for prepared runners.

Each distance has its own time and starting point, but they all end in the same place. And they all fill your soul.

⛅ What weather awaits me?

Welcome to the south of the south! In Torres del Paine, the weather is as unpredictable as a cat meme. It can be sunny, rainy, windy, dramatic clouds, cold, and hot… all in the same day.

But that makes it even more epic. We recommend coming with technical clothing, layers, a windbreaker, a hat, gloves, and a weather-resistant smile. 💨

👟 Do I need previous experience?

It depends on the distance you choose:

  • For the 10K, you just need to be in good general shape and have some training.
  • For the 21K, the ideal is to have done some urban half marathon.
  • For the 42K, serious training is required. This marathon isn’t flat or predictable: it’s beautiful, yet challenging.

And don’t worry if you’re not elite. We don’t run here to set records. You run to experience Patagonia from the inside.

🧳 What does the agency program include?

Our package designed for runners includes:

✅ Accommodation in Puerto Natales.
✅ Airport and race transfers.
✅ Logistical support and prior advice.
✅ Some pre and post race meals.

🏅 Is there a medal?

Of course! Everyone who crosses the finish line receives their well-deserved finisher’s medal, a souvenir you won’t hang in a drawer, but in your heart. And yes, it’s beautiful.

🧘 Can I stay a few more days to walk around?

Highly recommended! After your run, the best thing to do is enjoy Torres del Paine National Park, sail toward glaciers, hike spectacular trails, or simply relax with a craft beer overlooking the lake.

We also organize post-race excursions so you can make the most of your trip.
