Since 2012, the Patagonian International Marathon is a marathon that has been held annually in the Torres del Paine National Park. Having been interrupted in 2020 as a result of the pandemic, this year will once again provide an unforgettable experience for sports lovers.
The event takes place in the extreme south of the American continent, in a privileged location in Patagonia, east of the great Southern Ice Field and in the surroundings of the Torres del Paine National Park. The race distances are 10K, 21K (half marathon) and 42K (marathon).
Free day for terrain reconnaissance and the great day of the Patagonian International Marathon
After disembarking at the airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation in the city of Puerto Natales. The next day, a free day for recreational activities in Puerto Natales or reconnaissance of the area. You will receive the kit for the race at the hotel, which consists of a t-shirt, official number and timing chip.
On the big day of the race, you will be transferred from the hotel to the starting point. After the race you will take the transport to return to the hotel and savor a delicious Patagonian menu in celebration of the big day.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival and welcome to Puerto Natales
After disembarking at the Punta Arenas airport, you will travel by regular bus to the city of Puerto Natales. Arriving at the hotel, you will check-in and spend your first night in the accommodation.
Day 2 – Recreation day before the run
After breakfast, you will have a free day for recreational activities in Puerto Natales or reconnaissance of the area. At the hotel they will give you the kit for the race, which consists of a t-shirt, official number and timing chip. Later you will enjoy a delicious dinner, with a pasta menu, and then rest for the big day.
Day 3 – The big day of the Patagonian International Marathon
You will wake up early to enjoy a good breakfast before the race. At the indicated time you will be transferred from the hotel to the starting point. After the race you will take the transport to return to the hotel and savor a delicious Patagonian menu in celebration of the big day. Finally, you will relax on your last night of accommodation in Puerto Natales.
Day 4 – Farewell
You will have breakfast and after check-out you will leave the hotel for the Punta Arenas airport.

FAQ
What terrain is run on in the Patagonian International Marathon?
The routes are designed along the vehicular paths of the park and present a roof covering in good condition. In relation to the morphology of the terrain, the paths are very winding, with curves and permanent slope changes. How long is the limit to finish the marathon?
There will be a maximum of 7 hours to complete the 42K and there will be intermediate cut-off times, between the first 21km and the 31km since the start.
Can you walk instead of running?
Yes, you only have to consider that there are cut-off times and you must respect them. In case you are unable to comply with these schedules, you will have to board the vehicle that will close the track.
How many assistance points are there?
The assistance points will be located approximately every 5 km. This way, there will be 8 points for 42km, 5 points for 21km and 3 points for 10km.
