Description

We start this activity by going to pick you up at your place of accommodation, and then we will go to the Torres del Paine National Park, once there we will go to the Pudeto sector to board the Catamaran that will cross Lake Pehoé until we reach the Paine Grande sector.

We disembark and we will have time to go to the bathroom and then begin with the induction or technical talk before beginning this trekking that is part of the popular W circuit.

The walk begins through a narrow and winding valley in a northwesterly direction that leads to the Los Patos lagoon. As we continue advancing you will begin to see parts of the immense Southern Ice Fields, as well as the ice floes that break off from Lake Grey and advance through the lake of the same name.

After passing the sometimes very windy canyon of the winds, the road gradually ascends, always up the slopes of Paine Grande Hill. After traveling 6.5 kilometers, we will reach enough altitude, approximately 275 meters, to have a view of the ice tongue of the Grey Glacier, only interrupted by the enormous Nunatak (rock island in the middle of the ice mass).

We descend to almost the level of the lake, passing through a mountainous Magellanic forest, burned in the fire of 2011. We will reach the end of our tour, after 11.5 km and 4 hours of walking. From here, the main and close viewpoint of the glacier allows us to see the eastern arm of the ice mass, approximately 1 km in its western arm, where you will find yourself face to face with this mass of blue ice.

After contemplating this wonder of nature, we begin the return journey along the same path to arrive before 6:00 p.m. to board the catamaran that will take us back to the Pudeto sector, where the vehicle that will take us back to Puerto Natales awaits us.
