Day 1: Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers Navigation

Presentation at the meeting point to go by coach to the port.

Navigation through the two impressive glaciers of Seno Última Esperanza
The Navigation to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers takes us to the largest environmental protection zone in all of Chile. With more than 35,000 km² of practically virgin surface, with native vegetation and glaciers that form the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park. Place that also stands out for housing the culture and vestiges of the Kawésqar or Alacalufe ethnic groups.

With this navigation through the canals of Última Esperanza, you will be able to appreciate the flora and fauna of this beautiful place. In addition, obviously, to arrive in front of the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. Undoubtedly, a unique and remarkable experience in Patagonia.

Set sail towards the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers
Our excursion begins with the departure from the city of Puerto Natales to start a navigation that will take us to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers located in the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park. We will begin the navigation through the interior of the Última Esperanza Estuary. Place where we will visualize the Guanacos Island, Cascadas de los Cóndores and the beautiful Balmaceda Glacier, which will be the first glacier that we will be able to contemplate.

In addition, we will appreciate the wonderful landscape that surrounds us. It is possible to see birds such as some condors and the marine fauna, such as sea lions that above all are in charge of making us the most picturesque journey. We will first arrive at the Balmaceda Glacier to later view the Serrano Glacier from the boat until the opening of the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, but not before enjoying a cocktail with ancient ice.

Day 2: Full Day Torres del Paine

Full day Torres del Paine: get to know the landscape of the eighth wonder of the world with comfort and convenience
We start out tour Full Day Torres del Paine with the pick-up of the passenger at the hotel for a small city tour through Puerto Natales. Then we continue towards our first stop: the famous Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument.

There we will visit the largest cave of a set of three caves, which inside keep more than 100 years of history and the remains of prehistoric animals. Remains of the herbivorous mammal Mylodon Dawini were found in this place, an animal of the Pilosa order that includes anteaters, tamanduas and sloths, which also probably became extinct at the end of the Pleistocene.

We will continue enjoying the amazing view of Laguna Sofía, Lago Porteño, Cordillera Prat, Cerro Mesa, Sierra del Toro and Sierra Ballena. With 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at the viewpoint of the Lago del Toro. From there, we have a spectacular view of the lake and the Cordillera Paine, also known as Macizo Paine.

Walk through Lago Grey beach sector
The Full Day Torres del Paine continues in the Lago Grey sector where we will take a short walk of approximately 20 minutes to reach the shore of Lago Grey. From there we will have another perspective of the Macizo Paine and the Cuernos del Paine, if the weather conditions allow it.

In total, around 3 km are traveled through easily accessible terrain. Regardless of this, the walk is optional for those who do not want to or do not feel in a position to do it. Then we will have a free break to have lunch in a cafeteria, enjoying the beautiful views that Torres del Paine gives us.
