Description

Includes the Las Torres Base Trekking, the section most frequented by visits to the Torres del Paine National Park

With a total of 20 km, the Las Torres Base Trekking can be divided into three stages. In the first stage it includes an ascent of approximately 45 minutes. In moments of rest, you just need to turn around to enjoy incredible views of the landscape that surrounds us, in which we can see Lake Nordenskjöld. Then when entering the next section comprised of forests, following a less inclined path that ends at the beginning of the last stage.

The last section is one of the hardest due to the tiredness and irregularity of the stone path of the glacial moraine, until reaching the base of the towers. The three main towers are made of granite and are at an average height of 2,600 meters above sea level. These 3 granite giants were shaped by the force of glacial ice. They are the famous Torre D’Agostini, Torre Central and Torre Monzino, which enchant their visitors for their unique beauty, an experience that you have to live.

Start of the trek to the Chilean Camp

Our excursion begins with the pick-up of the passenger at the hotel and then we go to the Torres de Paine National Park and begin this demanding excursion. The Trekking to the base of the Torres del Paine is worthy of all the fame it holds. In such a way that throughout the tour we will appreciate the beauty of the flora and fauna of the Torres del Paine National Park. First, we continue the walk for a few minutes, until we reach the Del Ascencio Valley, where we follow a narrow path until we reach the Chilean camp, a stop where we recommend going to the bathroom.

Secondly, we will cross a stream, encountering totally different landscapes from the first stage, much greener and from nearby forests. In this stage of the Las Torres Base Trekking, there are fewer ascents and a less demanding path compared to the first stage of the trek.

After approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, touring the Lenga forest, you will be able to see the “Martina” Hanging Glacier.

Arrival at the base of the Torres del Paine

At this point of the Trekking to the Base of Torres del Paine, it is the moment in which the last stage begins and also the hardest and most demanding. In which you must travel a kilometer, something that seems little to the naked eye, in constant ascent and between rocks.

Although at first glance it may seem that there is no path, you will see that there are some kind of sticks between the rocks, with red marks that indicate the path you must follow. In addition, initially it may seem that the ascent is in a straight line, making this seem much more demanding than it really is.

Once at the Base of Torres del Paine, we feel only nature, silence or the whisper of the water, surrounded by one of the most incredible environments that you will be able to discover on our trip and that we are sure you will never forget. After its moment, the return begins along the same path and then continues towards your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
