Description

Kayak through the calm waters of La Poza Lagoon

With departures from Puerto Varas, every day, spend a half day kayaking in La Poza Lagoon and experience a perfect activity to entertain the whole family during your stay in Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt.

The day begins with the van that picks you up and will wait for you at the door of your hotel. Once en route, we have two options depending on weather conditions: paddle through a quiet area of Lake Llanquihue, near the base of Ensenada, or paddle through La Poza Lagoon.

We are going to travel approximately 15 minutes along a very pleasant road that borders Lake Llanquihue (Route 225). Just before arriving at La Poza bridge we will enter a very short dirt road on the right hand side and we will have arrived. It is a Escondida Lagoon with generally calm waters, especially in the morning. Here our guides will be waiting for you to equip us and start the activity.

Safety talk with the guides and then an adventure in La Poza Lagoon

Our team of guides will welcome you and give you a well-detailed safety talk as well as a rowing practice and then proceed to hand over the equipment: Full body suit and footwear, all neoprene. Life jackets renewed every two seasons and windbreaker jacket. You can wear a swimsuit, socks and a t-shirt (avoid cotton fabric on cold days).

Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, hat or jockey, sunglasses, towel, shorts (to wear on a hot day) and a towel for later. Anything you can lose is safer in the van than in the kayak and if you have valuables feel free to give them directly to our driver for added security.

At the end of the activity, we will change clothes and share a delicious snack. Once finished, it is time to return to Puerto Varas or continue with another adventure in the region, be it a river kayak class, mountain bike training on the Ensenada pumptrack or preparing a sea kayak expedition.
